This equipment is well made for a home gym, weld, paint and design, the feel of it is similar to the equipment found in regular gym. I would recommend, it has been a great addition to my home gym.
I looked everywhere for a nice plate loaded lat pull-down machine and decided to take a chance and ordered this one. It arrived from the Treadmill Factory within 2 weeks of my order with no issues. It was a well packed and took a few hours to put together carefully following the instruction leaflet that was enclosed.
The good: it’s a nice machine and definitely a step up from the budget Amazon type units but nowhere near as smooth as a plate loaded version. It has a 1:1 ratio so whatever weight you load is what you are moving. It’s fairly compact and will get a lot of use in my garage.
The not so good:
I find when you first pull the bar down, the whole tower kind of bends forward. It’s a little disconcerting. I hoped it would be a bit more solid in feel. I ensured everything was assembled properly but I think it’s just the design. The two attachment bars that come with the machine are pretty crappy. Covered in foam padding and feel very cheap. Easy to upgrade though but for a thousand dollar unit, I expected more. The main yolk sits quite loosely on the vertical bars and clangs and bangs as the weights go up and down. It gives the machine a cheaper feel.
So all in all I’m not sure if I should have just bought an Amazon unit for one third of the price. I’m happy I have it and it definitely will get the job done, but I had hoped for a bit more at this price. I feel like I overpaid for what it is.
Shipping was very fast (2 days). Compared to the other piece of equipement in my home gym, the finish of the product is great (nice paint, everything gets in place easily). It took me around 1 1/2 hours to complete the assembly, can be done alone. I think the product is robust enough for a good residential use (i am an advanced lifter). The operation of the unit is very smooth (that was my main concern but the slidding system feels like a commercial one). Cable are really simple to adjust. For the one who is rarely satisfied, don't forget that you pay the third of the price compared to a commercial unit and I assure you, it worth it.
I have had mine in the house for the last 6 months and it has been a rock solid performer. I use for back pull downs/rows, bicep curls, and tricep pull downs. Can utilize for other exercises too. Performs just like the equipment in the gyms I have worked out in for the last 20 years. A great buy!
The building instructions are really vague
The equipment is a great addition to my gym. Smooth. My Olympic plates fit real well. It's going to be a staple in my workout routine.
